How the Threaded Live Centre works

Start by turning the outside of your bowl, include a foot or a spigot. Fit the Threaded Live Centre into you your tailstock and attach a Torquata scroll chuck. Move the tailstock / chuck assembly up along the lathe and grab the foot of your bowl while still attached to lathe. Now take out the Threaded Live Centre, and then take the bowl / chuck assembly off the lathe. Spin it around and screw the bowl / chuck assembly to the headstock. Your bowl will be precisely centred, ready to be hollowed out or cored.

You will need a scroll chuck

This Threaded Live Centre features a M30 x 3.5 TPI thread. Check that this thread fits the scroll chuck you intend to use with the live centre.
