The belt & disc sander is the fastest way to accurately shape and sand smaller parts. When fitted with 60 or 80 grit abrasive they remove material rapidly and make short work of shaping tasks in a variety of materials. With higher grit sandpaper they perform tricky finishing operations with ease.
With 1.5HP directly driven into the belt and disc, the SBD-612-CS is able to get your workpiece to the pencil line in super-fast time. Whether you are working in softwoods or the hardest of Australian hardwoods, or even bone, acrylic or plastics, youll power through with a minimum of fuss.
The work tables are flat, smooth and easy to adjust, allowing you to achieve specific angles on your workpiece with perfect repeatability. Each table can be adjusted from +20 to -45, making an impressive total adjustability range of 65. Both tables have 20mm mitre channels providing stable platform for sliding jigs and mitre guides.
Rotating the belt from the horizontal position to the vertical position lets you square and trim end grain with stability. The 12in disc provides a large surface with varying abrasive speeds, perfect for fiddly jobs where you need to creep up to a pencil mark.
Sanding creates a huge amount of fine dust, making dust collection a major priority in your workshop. The SBD-612-CS has twin extraction ports connected to snug-fitting manifolds, allowing you to direct the airflow to where it is needed most and minimising the dust nuisance.
The SBD-612-CS can be used for all sorts of shaping jobs, including:
