The FitGear housing has no straight lines or hard edges, so it nestles in the hand beautifully, and the tightly wound tape keeps it small but with a nice weight.
The tape itself is 25mm-wide carbon steel with a white baked finish and protective nylon coating. This makes it scratch resistant and will give a standout of 2.2 to 2.4 metres.
The faces are easy to read with large whole digits and every 10cm increment picked out in red. The reverse side of the tape reads vertically.
The lock engages well and holds tight. The return mechanism is fast without being violent. Great tapes, we like using them a lot – and hope you will too.
